Juniper's Restaurant Inspiration
Chef Tyler Shipton recently returned to southeastern Minnesota after years of working oceanside in San Diego. According to Chef Tyler, his “family has been here since before the railroad came through town”.
Juniper’s is named after Chef Tyler and his partner, Ame’s daughter Juniper.
The Juniper's Restaurant is a cozy space with indoor and outdoor dining areas including two balconies, a patio, and a deck overlooking the Root River.

Chef Tyler's restaurant concept blends fast food and fine dining. Family-friendly, date-night ideal, and casual for on-the-go. Enjoy our scratch-made, cooked-to-order menu for a fresh and timely taste of Lanesboro's finest food. For in-house dining, orders placed at the counter are promptly delivered to your table by our attentive staff.

The People Behind Juniper's
Tyler Shipton is the Executive Chef and owner of Juniper’s Restaurant. His culinary journey has placed him in some of the country’s most prominent restaurants. In 2012, he decided to embark on his own journey and was one of the opening Chefs and owners of Minneapolis’ Borough. In 2015, he moved to the west coast, with a desire to explore the food scene. After spending several years as an Executive Chef of various top restaurants along the coast in San Diego, the pandemic forced Chef Tyler and fiancé Ame back to the farm he grew up on, and together, the duo founded Juniper’s in Lanesboro, MN.
